Purpose, Vision & Values
“I have taken you by the hand and kept you; I have given you as a covenant to the people, a light to the nations.” Isaiah 42:6Purpose: To Love God, Love one another, and Love our neighbors - all in the name of Jesus Christ.
Vision is the picture of what God most desires in a given context or place or time. It focuses and shapes who we are as a body and what we are called to do.
Our Vision: To be the people in the Grandville area, through whom God calls people of all ages from communities locally and globally - to be welcomed, saved, strengthened, and encouraged in Jesus Christ and added to His family here.
Values are the principles through which we pursue our vision.
SAVIOR
And the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s only son, full of grace and truth. John 1:14
We believe with our whole hearts and boldly confess that our salvation and identity is in God’s only Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
WORD
Your word is a lamp to my feet and light to my path. Psalm 119:105
The Word of God governs everything we do – worship, leadership, ministry and relationships.
COVENANT
If one member suffers, all suffer together with it; if one member is honored, all rejoice with it. 1 Cor. 12:26
We are a covenant people in other words, a people of God’s promises: In covenant with God through the blood of Jesus Christ; in covenant with one another by the power of the Holy Spirit; and in covenant with the community and the world as the body of Christ.
MINISTRY
Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly more than all we can ask... Ephesians 4:20-21
The ministry we do is initiated, shaped and empowered by Jesus Christ. It is gift-based and passion- driven, to meet the needs of the congregation, community and the world - all done for His glory.
NEIGHBOR
…you shall love your neighbor as yourself… Mark 12:31
In the name of Jesus, we love our neighbors in Grandville and surrounding communities as well as our “neighbors” around the world. Through community involvement, evangelism and missions we are bringing the love of Jesus to the visitor, the alienated, the lost, the broken, and the needy.
